This summer, PCNW invites you to take part in ISO PCNW (In Support Of PCNW), an exciting new event designed to inspire creativity and build community while raising funds for education programs at the Photographic Center Northwest. This event will feature two components - starting with Long Shot, a 24-hour photographic endurance event where participants will be roving throughout the city of Seattle with their cameras and documenting the journey. The following month, there will be a celebration at Ouch My Eye Studio featuring a slideshow and one-night exhibition of selected images from the Long Shot experience.

Calling All Photographers! PCNW Wants You!

LONG SHOT: the 24-hour photographic endurance event

June 19-20, 2009 Seattle, Washington

What is it?

The basic premise: to join other local photographers dedicating part or all of this 24-hour period to exploring and documenting the city of Seattle. Roving begins at 6pm on Friday evening, continuing through 6pm Saturday.

What and where should I photograph?

Photograph the city in your own personal style, using any format you'd like. Shoot digital and/or film. Focus on one neighborhood or location for a few hours, or spend the full 24 hours migrating throughout the city. Gather with others to work as a traveling photo troupe. Take advantage of scheduled meetup locations to explore a specific topic or style, or just to regroup with other photographers.

How do the sponsors fit in?

Long Shot photographers are encouraged to seek sponsors who will donate a certain amount per hour that you actively participate in the Long Shot event.

Examples:
$1.00/hr x 24 hours = $24.00 total donation
$25.00/hr x 4 hours = $100.00 total donation

Sponsors may donate a flat rate if they prefer. Each photographer is asked to raise a minimum of $24.00 - or you may opt to pay the $24.00 yourself as a Long Shot registration fee. Receipt of funds will confirm your official inclusion in the event and the exhibition to follow in July.

Sign me up! How do I register?

Registration is open from early May until Friday, June 19th, the day of the event. To sign up, stop by the front desk at PCNW or call 206.720.7222 x10. At that time, you will receive more information about the event and sponsorship forms to get you started. If registering by phone, this information will be sent to you. The sponsorship form is also as a PDF. Official participants will be limited to the first 100 photographers who register - sign up early to reserve your spot!
