Student Services

Counseling

Academic advising is provided by the Registrar, Director of Education, and/or faculty advisors in a personal and confidential manner. Notify the Registrar if you are interested in scheduling an advising appointment.

Financial Aid

The Photographic Center Northwest does not participate in the Federal Student Aid Program and does not provide student loans. Students are given the option to pay their tuition and fees in three installments throughout the quarter; there is a $20.00 service charge for this option. We also have a Work Trade Program for students who are interested in working a weekly shift at the center in exchange for funds to be directed towards their tuition and fees. New applications for the Work Trade Program are accepted each quarter; please contact the front desk for details.

Guest Lecturers

The Photographic Center Northwest invites internationally recognized photographers to teach workshops and give public lectures throughout the year, contributing to the continuing education of our students and members. The PCNW community is also exposed to the work of both regional and international photographers through rotating gallery exhibitions in our gallery.

Housing

PCNW does not provide housing for students.

Placement Assistance

Though we do not provide placement assistance, students at Photographic Center Northwest do have extensive opportunities to network with instructors and professionals working in the field. Each year, our Gallery Director organizes FotoRevu - a portfolio review event which provides an excellent opportunity for students to establish contact with key contacts in the local photographic community. Additionally, students graduating from our Certificate Program receive gallery exposure during their year-end Thesis Exhibition, highlighting their work and presenting them to the community as a celebrated graduate of PCNW.
